ANNOUNCEMENT-

The Halogen Company announces YULE

December 6th, 8pm to Midnight at 2234 Temple St, Los Angeles CA

The Halogen Company, is proud to invite the Los Angeles immersive theater community to a celebration! The company that brought you One Exit, the sold out summer immersive experience, is holding a winter extravaganza, YULE, at 2234 Temple St, Los Angeles, CA.

Be transported to a winter forest, filled with mischief and surprises. Help us exalt our fellow immersive companies as we shed light on everyone’s accomplishments from this past year. Dance the year away in our Huntsmen’s Forest. Winter creatures will entertain you as you enjoy holiday punch and tasty treats. Tread carefully, the Wild Hunt is known to crash the party.

Featuring performances from Koryn Ann Wicks and Demi Jolato, tarot readings from Keight Lane, caricature portraits with Stephanie Delazeri, holiday DJ Olivia Paulson, and a VIP immersive performance by James Cowan.

In our Nice Room, find your renewal and create something for others. Bringing you inner peace, this room is dedicated to bringing cheer to those less fortunate. Craft a card or special note for a child in need while playing in our snow-covered wonderland.

The Naughty Lounge is not for everyone. Those unfortunate enough to purchase this ticket will get to meet the Demon of Yule himself. This immersive experience will leave you feeling all kinds of wrong.

YULE is a festive affair. We encourage our patrons to dress up in their finest woodland garb! This party is wheelchair accessible. Yule will run 8pm-12am on December 6th.

Winners of the Los Angeles’ 2019 Immersive Invitational Audience Award, our previous works include ONE EXIT, our 2019 summer sold out immersive experience, based off Sartre’s No Exit and Dante’s Inferno; Almost, Maine, our sold out interactive rendition of John Cariani’s classic play; Sit Down and Shut Up: A One Woman Immersive Experience discussing female treatment in the workplace in varying professional settings.

We thrive on creating and honoring live theater, merging artists, interacting with a multitude of inventive outlets and offering resources and tools for actors who crave the creative hustle. The Halogen Company revels in stories that mine the often forgotten moments of our lives to celebrate the philosophical and existential gems underneath. We tilt the scale between original and classic pieces intended for audience interaction and full immersion. The actors vary, the stories differ, the locations change…but we are always sure to bump the lamp.

HAUNTS – Six Flags Magic Mountain Fright Fest – CA

Six Flags Fright Fest Magic Mountain

Six Flags Magic Mountain always has a quality Fright Fest event. If you enjoy roller coasters and haunted houses, then this event is a must see. Ride coasters all day then stay for the spooky evening activities. You can also continue to ride coasters during Fright Fest. The mazes are a small up charge, but worth it.
I’ve been to several different Fright Fests around the country and Magic Mountain is one of the top. They have more elaborate set designs in their mazes and streets, the actors are skilled, the stage shows are strong and the vibe is overall more of a fun Halloween event for adults rather than just kids and families like some of the other parks. I enjoy the passionate monsters that take to the streets and mazes around sundown during the Halloween season. They bring a special charm to this event that I find is lacking at many of the other Fright Fests as well.
The 2019 Magic Mountain Fright Fest did not bring with it many changes from the previous year, however may of the fan favorites held strong including the Nightmares scare zone, Willoughby House, Sewer of Souls and Red’s Revenge. Vault 666 returned with a bit of a facelift this season. They also did a coffin challenge this year where a handful of people stay in a coffin for 30 hours to win tickets and prizes.Overall it is a fun event for adults and families.
Thank you to Six Flags for inviting me to media night to experience this year’s event!

HAUNTS – Museum of Monsters – CA

MUSEUM OF MONSTERS

Museum of Monsters is a fun monster themed popup just in time for Halloween! It’s a perfect event for all ages. The monsters are creative and a little weird but not especially scary. It’s a great stop for anyone looking for fun Halloween Instagram pics too!

ESCAPE ROOMS – Escape the Night – CA

ESCAPE THE NIGHT escape room experience

Have you ever dreamt of being on the innovative YouTube series ESCAPE THE NIGHT? Now you can play the live action escape room based on the series and even meet Joey Graceffa depending on the ticket package.

JoeySmile.jpg

Whether you’re a fan of the show or just like escape rooms, this is an incredibly fun and well designed game. The set and props are beautifully designed. There is a strong story based goal. The puzzles are clever. There is a good mix of puzzles and activities, however I would say they lean a little more on activities which is perfect for new players. The designers integrated technology throughout the game seamlessly. There is a perfect amount of things to do for the average group to accomplish. Overall I had a fun time and would highly recommend Escape the Night escape room to all players regardless of experience or age.

PLUG IN INITIATIVE: THE AMERICAN FOUNDATION FOR SUICIDE PREVENTION
The Halogen Company will be donating part of its proceeds from our production of One
Exit to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. As this show deals with traumatic and sudden deaths, it is our duty as a company to reach out and raise awareness for this issue.
“Deaths of despair”, as they are being called, related to drugs, alcohol, or suicide — claimed the lives of 36,000 American millennials in 2017 alone. Drug overdoses are the most common cause of death. We’ve seen a 47% increase in major depression since 2013,
according to a Blue Cross Blue Shield report. However, one in five don’t seek treatment — likely because they can’t afford it. We at The Halogen Company hope you will join us for a night of immersive theatre, supporting an organization that impacts so many of those we love.

If you cannot join us for our limited engagement of One Exit, we urge to to make a donation to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. And as always we just want to say that you are not alone. Confidential help is available for free. If you do have thoughts of suicide please call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-8255. We can only make the mundane strange again, if you are here to enjoy it with us.
