13th GATE ESCAPE THE ASYLUM

Anyone that’s ever asked me, “What’s the best escape room?” has had the opportunity to hear me rave about 13^th Gate. I’ve had a special place in my heart for 13^th Gate since I first played Death Row and The Collector back in 2015. We actually planned this entire weekend trip to Louisiana specifically to play Cutthroat Cavern, Tomb of Anubis, Agent 13 and Asylum.

13^th Gate’s newest escape room experience, The Asylum, is a wonderfully immersive traditional escape room with fun scares. As one of the top companies in the nation at both haunted attractions and escape rooms, it’s only natural 13^th Gate would create a thrilling experience merging the two. The Asylum is a perfect combination of escape room and haunted attraction.

The journey through the Asylum is very immersive combining detailed and realistic set design with effective lighting, sounds and smells to make you feel like you are really inside of the actual story. Although this game is not as large in scale as it’s predecessor Cutthroat Cavern, it is an exceptionally well designed and fun game. The storytelling and hint system are done in a clever way that keeps you immersed in the experience. This game probably has the most traditionally entertaining puzzles of any of the escape rooms at the location. The jump scares are perfectly placed and plentiful. Overall, the Asylum is an incredible horror escape room experience that I highly recommend.
