Route 51 an Out of This World Experience (review)

Route 51 escape game at PanIQ Room in West Hollywood is set in a retro roadside convenience store with an alien mood. Route 51 leans into search‑heavy, tactile puzzles that require paying attention to detail and using quick hand‑eye coordination. You’ll be searching shelves, and working with props that feel like they belong in an out of this world location.

Outside of building

The overall vibe is playful, not scary, which makes it great for mixed‑age groups or casual hangouts. If your group likes to explore and search, you’ll feel right at home in Route 51.

• Route 51 – an alien‑themed escape room set inside a convenience store.
• 60 minutes with medium difficulty and family‑friendly theme
• Recommended for ages 6 and up.
• Around $39.95–$41.95 per player depending on the day and group size.
• Designed for 2–10 players; I’d recommend at least three people.
• The room is ADA compliant, it’s upstairs but there is an elevator
• Cameras are allowed in the room

PanIQ Room West Hollywood stands out because of its large venue and unique lobby. PanIQ has seven different escape‑room experiences on-site, so you can rotate through themes on returning visits. They have other activities too; Trivia in the Quiz Room, Karaoke, arcade lounge with pinball, fair‑style shooting gallery and plenty of seating, making it easy to hang out before and after your game without feeling rushed.

The bar downstairs serves only nonalcoholic drinks, which keeps the venue all‑ages and social. I tried the Butterbrew, a light butterscotch‑style drink. I plan to order it again next time I’m there.
