I loved Poe-Etique. I loved the storytelling, the choreography, the acting, the dancing, the lighting, the sound design, the staging— and I have no notes. None.
This show is absolutely brilliant.

If you’ve ever wanted an introduction to immersive theatre, this is the perfect place to start. If you’re already an experienced fan of immersive worlds, if Sleep No More or Then She Fell is your kind of night out, then Poe-Etique is a must-see. Missing it would be something you’ll truly regret.
This production is one of those legendary experiences that people whisper about for years. It’s the kind of performance so powerful that it almost feels mythic, like something too extraordinary to have really happened.

The creative team behind Poe-Etique has crafted something transcendent. The choreography and movement design are breathtaking, telling the story as eloquently as the dialogue itself. Every motion, every placement in the space is intentional.
They create an immersive world with minimalistic set design and it works. The staging and lighting merge seamlessly to create a living, breathing world that pulls you inside and refuses to let go. Even the smells immerse you in this world. This show isn’t about elaborate sets and props, it is about the dedicated performances that keep you thoroughly engaged throughout the evening.

The performances are perfection. Every single one of them hits every emotional and physical mark with precision and honesty. Even when the focus is elsewhere, they remain fully immersed, always on, always connected. There are so many layers happening around you at once that no two audience members will have the same experience. It’s a show that demands repeat visits, because you simply can’t catch it all the first time.
I found myself drawn in to the characters, following their stories, watching their reactions, connecting to their emotions and it was astonishing how deeply I felt for them. From the one on one moments to a solo dance I witnessed, I knew certain moments of this experience were mine and mine alone. At one point, an actor looked directly at me and whispered a single line that broke my heart. I felt the tears rise instantly. That kind of intimacy makes Poe-Etique unforgettable.

This cast and creative team have accomplished something rare and remarkable. Every creative involved has poured their soul into this production and it shows.
I can’t say enough good things. Poe-Etique is beyond words, the kind of experience that will live in my heart in a very special place, as few shows do.
Thank you so much to Poe-Etique for inviting me to cover this performance. I will not forget it.
