FALLEN SAINTS: Tales of Blaze City – An Intimate Immersive Adventure in NoHo (review)

Sometimes the most memorable theatrical experiences don’t come from large stages or flashy effects—they come from smaller spaces filled with imagination, passion, and creativity. That’s exactly what I found at Force of Nature Productions’ latest immersive piece, FALLEN SAINTS: Tales of Blaze City, currently playing in North Hollywood. I was invited to preview the performance this past weekend.

The show transforms a cozy theater space into the world of a comic book that has lost its color. Audiences begin by meeting their guide, ours was Sketch, an unfinished drawing. The guide introduces your group to the Illustrator, who gives you a quest: ours was to retrieve the “color” from the different black-and-white characters we met along the way.

Each interaction is unique—some characters may challenge you, others may charm you while others may even try to deceive you.

The set and costume designs are simple but inventive, with hand-drawn backdrops and carefully staged areas that really feel like stepping into a sketchbook come to life. What stood out most to me was the heart behind the production—you can feel how much care and creativity the team has poured into building this world and welcoming audiences into it.

Without giving away the ending, there’s a bit of a moral woven into the story that ties everything together. It’s creative, interactive, and a great way to dip your toes into immersive theater if you’ve never tried it before. Just be open to participating—the show works best when the audience leans in and plays along.

For those who enjoy interactive theater, intimate storytelling, or discovering hidden gems in the North Hollywood arts district, FALLEN SAINTS: Tales of Blaze City is a fun and heartfelt adventure that’s worth checking out.

Tickets and more info are available at Force of Nature Productions.

Accessibility: Guests must be able to ascend and descend a flight of stairs to get to the theatre and stand for the duration of the performance (approximately 45 minutes)
