Los Angeles Haunted Hayride 2024 Review: A Night of Nostalgic Thrills

The Los Angeles Haunted Hayride has once again captivated my heart with its unique blend of nostalgia, immersive fun, and terrifying scares. This beloved event has brought us 16 years of scares. It impresses me how they continue to try new collaborations and creative out of the box ideas year after year.

My Favorite Moments:

  • Monáe Manor: Impressive set design and innovative use of monitors brought Janelle Monáe into the eerie soirée with us.
  • Haunted Hayride: A nostalgic treat, reminiscent of my childhood Midwest hayride adventures. The Los Angeles Haunted Hayride brings this rural tradition to the city, with terrifying twists.
  • Madame Aurora’s Seance Show: Immersive and electrifying, this experience transported me to a world beyond the veil.

Mazes:

1. Monáe Manor (my personal favorite): Party with Halloween icon Janelle Monáe at this eerie soiree.

2. Hellbilly Halloween: Uncover the twisted secrets of a rumored cannibalistic family. Creepy vibe.

3. Trick or Treat Ding Dong Dead: Find yourself trapped in a neighborhood where tricks far outweigh treats. Full disclosure – I miss the days of ringing doorbells for candy, but still a fun maze.

Other Activities:

  • Monte Revolta Show: An unforgettable and hilarious theatrical macabre experience.
  • Madame Aurora’s Seance Show ($): Witness spirit-conjuring in a traditional circus tent.
  • Scary-Go-Round ($): Ride skeleton steeds into nightmares.
  • Midnight Falls Axe Throwing ($): Protect yourself from ghouls.
  • Zombie Splat – A GellyBall Experience ($): Defend against a zombie apocalypse.
  • Mini Escape Games ($): interactive challenges (they were not open the night I went)
  • Food trucks and Merch shopping ($)

Scare Actor Spotlight:

  • The passionate and hardworking scare actors within the mazes deserve accolades.
  • The Midnight Falls townspeople, with their strong characters, have become my favorite part of spooky season. Seeing them each year is like reuniting with old friends.
  • Madame Aurora gives a hauntingly fun seance performance with skill.
  • Monte Revolta Show has talented and entertaining cast.

Tips:

  • Arrive early to get from the parking lot to the event. Additional parking with shuttles located at the zoo.
  • Wear old comfy shoes because they will get dusty.
  • Explore Midnight Falls and interact with the talented scare actors.
  • Don’t miss Madame Aurora’s Seance Show.
  • Event is on uneven ground, but is wheelchair accessible.

With its unique blend of nostalgia, immersive experiences, and terrifying scares, this event has secured its place in my heart.
