The Willows family is eccentric, quirky, and unforgettable. This immersive theatrical event by JFI Productions is not your average sit-down play. You don’t simply watch the story unfold—you live inside it.

The characters are full, complex, and brilliantly acted, drawing you deeper into their world with every glance, question, and secret whispered in the halls. I’ve always admired the cast, but this year I found myself especially impressed with how natural and committed each performance felt. The writing is strong, layered with mystery, humor, and a strange intimacy that lingers long after the evening ends.
The event is set up as a dinner party. The food is tasty, though it’s more of a light appetizer experience than a full meal. The drinks (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic) are a nice touch. While you won’t leave with a full stomach, you will leave feeling completely satisfied by the story.

I had the pleasure of returning to The Willows this year for a media preview night. I first attended back in 2023, and while the script remains largely the same, the new location and my personal interactions with different characters made this year’s experience feel fresh, unique, and just as captivating.
As with my last visit, I won’t spoil details of the narrative, but I do want to stress how important it is to dress appropriately. Cocktail attire is encouraged (black is ideal) and you’ll want to wear something comfortable enough to handle some physical activity—ascending and descending staircases, possibly sitting or even crawling. This isn’t a passive event; you’ll be moving with the story. You’ll also want to be ready to engage with the family directly. The more you lean in, the more rewarding the experience will be.

One of the things I love most about The Willows is how no two visits are the same. The story shifts depending on who you meet, what you uncover, and how you respond. My evening this year was vastly different than my 2023 visit. It’s one of the things that makes The Willows a favorite immersive production for me.
While many nights are already sold out, The Willows runs through early December. It isn’t a Halloween-specific show, so don’t hesitate to grab tickets for November if October is already packed.

This is truly an immersive theater gem. With a strong script, a phenomenal cast, and a world that feels alive around you, The Willows is the kind of experience that reminds me why I fell in love with this form of storytelling in the first place. If you’re looking for something unique, interactive, and unforgettable, I highly recommend making time for this eccentric family’s dinner party.
