CHINO, CA — Horror fans no longer have to just watch slasher movies; this August, they can try to survive one. Nightmare Rising Haunted Attraction today announced Camp Coffin Creek, Southern California’s only fully immersive, overnight horror camping experience. Spanning 400 acres of darkness at SC Village in Chino, the intense 12-hour event challenges campers to endure a programmed interactive horror narrative running from dusk until dawn.
Camp Coffin Creek runs for four exclusive dates: August 21, 22, 28, and 29, 2026, from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM. Tickets are on sale now at nightmarerisinghaunt.com.
Breaking away from traditional, passive haunted houses, Camp Coffin Creek places guests directly into an active horror narrative where the monsters do not clock out at midnight. Attendees will participate in a full slate of adrenaline-pumping activities, including:
- Three Professional Haunted Attractions: Features Zombie Survival Fight (a tactical squad-based mission with gel blasters), Zombie Survival Flight (a high-stakes pursuit through a sewer system), and Alone in the Woods (an isolated, unguided trek).
- SFX Workshop with Eric Fox: A hands-on, professional special effects makeup workshop hosted by celebrity guest Eric Fox, star of SyFy Channel’s hit series Face Off.
- Interactive Camp Programming: Park-wide scavenger hunts, competitive horror-themed camp games, a gel blaster shootout range, and classic horror cinema on a massive outdoor screen.
“You are not watching a slasher movie. You are inside one,” says the Camp Coffin Creek production team. “There are no exits, no guided tours, and no safe distances. Every hour has a purpose, and what lives in the dark will actively pursue you until sunrise.”
Ticketing & Logistics: General Admission tickets are $120 per person and include a tent rental, an event T-shirt, and full access to all camp activities. Group packages and premium VIP “RIP” options are also available.
Because this is an extreme horror event where performers make physical contact, all participants must be 13 or older and must sign two separate liability waivers upon entry. Food, beverage, and merchandise vendors will remain active on-site all night. Gates open for check-in at 7:00 PM and close to new arrivals at 10:30 PM.
