WHAT: San Diego’s largest night-time Halloween event, Howl-O-Scream at SeaWorld San Diego, makes a spine-chilling return this fall, and on Wednesday, August 28 for 24 hours only, thrill seekers can score tickets at hauntingly good prices, as low as $43.99 each, when purchasing two or more tickets.

Returning on September 27 and running on select nights through November 2, SeaWorld San Diego’s Howl-O-Scream promises to redefine Halloween with its unmatched blend of terrifyingly fun entertainment. This year’s event will deliver an unforgettable night of terror with heart-pounding haunted houses, like Circus of the Damned and Simon’s Slaughterhouse. Witness three all-new vile vignettes and seven all-new scare zones such as Terrors of the Deep featuring deadly sea beasts and Red Moon Revelry with bloodthirsty vampires.
Guests will be thrilled by the all-new Monster Stomp, an electrifying live performance set in the misty streets of Victorian-era London. Additionally, a curated selection of daring food and drink options will keep the frightful fun going all night long. SeaWorld has elevated every element of fear, creating an experience that will captivate and terrify guests like never before.
In addition, Pass Members can partake in an exclusive in-park Buy One Get One (BOGO) Any Night Tickets for $60 offer starting Friday, August 30 and available only through the Labor Day weekend when purchased in person.

SeaWorld San Diego Debuts Inaugural Howl-O-Sprint 5K Run/Walk and Kids Run
Participants in the Halloween-inspired event will delight in a fun-loving, fright-filled morning of fitness
Howl-O-Scream at SeaWorld San Diego, San Diego’s largest nighttime Halloween event, is stepping up its annual spooky celebration with the introduction of its inaugural Howl-O-Sprint 5K running and walking event through its Halloween décor, vignettes and attractions, exclusively before the park opens to guests. Howl-O-Sprint 5K will kick off at 7 a.m. on Sunday, October 20 at the height of the spooky season and provide participants with a never before seen and fun-filled way to experience the park. Registration is now open.
Participants will adventure along a 3.1-mile course through the grounds of SeaWorld San Diego, which will be decked out with thrills and chills from SeaWorld’s Howl-O-Scream and Spooktacular events. Organizers are planning Halloween surprises, themed photo moments and hauntingly entertaining characters that will pop up along the route. The event is appropriate for all ages and fitness levels, it will also include a one-mile Kids Fun Run. Costumes and themed attire are encouraged, though masks are not permitted.
All participants will receive an official race shirt, race bib with a timing chip, a one-of-a-kind finisher medal and eligibility for awards for top finishes. Produced by Southern California endurance and sporting events leader Spectrum Sports Management & Timing Services, the race will be the latest edition to the calendar of running events that have made San Diego one of the most popular destinations for the sport.
The 5K is just one of many events and experiences set to take place in anticipation of Halloween festivities at SeaWorld San Diego. Howl-O-Scream returns September 27 and runs on select nights through November 2. Howl-O-Scream, which received USA TODAY’s 10Best Readers’ Choice Award for the Best Theme Park Halloween Event in 2023, is the only event in town offering a full night of fear with haunts, spine-tingling thrills, shows, coasters, speakeasies, food and more. Additionally, SeaWorld San Diego hosts Spooktacular, which runs from September 6 through November 3 on select dates, features family-friendly trick-or-treating included in park admission, a pumpkin patch and other family-focused festivities that capture the Halloween spirit. This year, Spooktacular offers an all-new pirate theme and even more activities for kids to enjoy.
