FULLERTON, Calif. — The Maverick Theater brings a unique rock ‘n’ roll concert to its stage with their highly anticipated production of Hedwig and the Angry Inch. This groundbreaking musical by John Cameron Mitchell and Stephen Trask was hailed by Rolling Stone as “the best rock musical ever.”

Hedwig and the Angry Inch tells the story of “internationally ignored song stylist” Hedwig Schmidt, a fourth-wall smashing East German rock ‘n’ roll goddess who also happens to be the victim of a botched sex-change operation, which has left her with just “an angry inch.” This outrageous and unexpectedly hilarious story is a dazzlingly glam rock/stand-up comedy routine backed by the hard-rocking band “The Angry Inch.” Starring audience favorite Dennis Tong (Frank-n-Furter in the Maverick Theater’s The Rocky Horror Show) as Hedwig and Michelle Hernandez as Yizhak. Don’t miss this glam rock masterpiece that defied conventions as it explored ideas of fame, gender, and “the origin of love.”

Hedwig and the Angry Inch, directed by Juztine Tuazon-Martin, opens May 24th and runs through July 13th.
